My name is Sarah Firth and I run own and manage Gladwags Dog Grooming. I have been around animals and dogs all my life and have a vast experience and knowledge of all dogs.

From the age of 12 I volunteered at a Clumber spaniel show Kennel, where I spent all my free time showing, grooming and caring for the dogs, I attended Crufts each year and many local championship dog shows where I helped to groom a massive range of dog breeds to show standard.

I studied Animal Sciences at college then when I left I went on to study veterinary nursing which I did for 1 years.

I also have an NCFE qualification in dog grooming, and a Diploma in Animal Psychology.

Our grooming options are as follows:

FULL GROOM
Your dog will enjoy a luxury shampoo and conditioning treatment using high quality hypoallergenic products specifically formulated for their skin and hair type. A full hand blow dry by Sarah will follow this, then she will carry out any bespoke requirements by the customer from ear plucking, nail clipping, anal glands, ear clean, eye clean.

Your dog is then clipped and hand scissored into the hair style specified by yourself. Finally a spray of dog perfume is added to ensure your best friend smells wonderful.

Priced from £3

SHAMPOO, BLOW-DRY & DE-SHED
Your dog will enjoy a luxury shampoo and conditioning treatment as above, then a full hand blow dry and matt removal process will follow, finally a spray of doggy perfume is applied for that final finish.

Priced from £2

HAND STRIPPING
This is a technique used specifically for wire coated breeds such as the Norfolk terrier, but can also be used for other breeds, such as spaniels. The method consists of removing the dead hair by hand using specialized tools. It is a very time consuming process so this is reflected in the price.

PUPPY GROOM
It is so very important that your new puppy is introduced to grooming procedures at a young age to ensure it is an enjoyable positive experience that they will look forward to. Sarah recommends that the first session is after the second vaccination but really needs to be before 16 weeks old at 6 months of age and onwards.

The first visit will just consist of her giving puppy lots of fuss and praise, a little brush and maybe a brief scissor clip if required, she will check ears and teeth and just make sure puppy is happy with being handled around all those areas, we will have a short introduction to the dryer and maybe turn on the electric clippers and let puppy smell everything, then we will finish on lots of praise and a little treat (if its ok with mum or dad). the sessions will build up gradually over a few weeks to a full grown up groom specified by the customer.

Priced from £15.

EXTRAS (included in the price of a full groom)
Ear clean £5.
Eye clean £5.
Nail clip £1.
Ear plucking £1.
Anal glands £1.
